SKO Fly Aerial, owned and operated by Kathy Julien, was established as the result of Kathy’s passion for flying, her love for the ocean, and the desire to share the incredible world she lives and works in with others. In collaboration with photographer Debra Z. Dixon, SKO Fly Aerial captures the beauty of the Monterey Bay. The mosaics of agricultural fields, unique homes and properties, world-renowned landmarks, the spectacular coastline, all make for the perfect canvas to capture in pictures.

SKO Fly Aerial and DZD Photography are involved with many local charities, including Jacobs Heart, Ride A Wave, and the Monterey Bay Rotary Clubs. These philanthropic women donate aerial images and airplane rides to various charitable events to help raise funds and awareness.

Flying low, and slow in a classic 1959 Cessna 172, SKO Fly Aerial will provide a unique perspective of your event, project, or home. Based at the Watsonville Airport, Kathy and Deb cruise the coastline and inland countryside of the Monterey Bay, capturing incredible images that vary with the time of day, time of year, and changing climate.

An image ~ A scene captured in time, a moment frozen in tribute to the memory of a person, an event, a place, a furry friend. Through the captured image, the sun will forever set, the child will remain innocent, a favorite scene will remind us of why we love.

This is why I photograph.

Aerial photography captures the scene in grand scale, whether of a business, a residence, or an event. Our home is our castle, no matter the size. What better way to show it off than from the air?

Photography from the air is an extremely enjoyable challenge. I love excitement & aerial photography brings inspiration & joy to what I do.

Kathy Julien is a native Northern Californian, third generation San Franciscan. She is a resident of Aptos and is well-known in the community.

Kathy has been flying airplanes for over 25 years. She is rated in several turbo jet aircraft ranging from Citations to 747, and has had the great joy and satisfaction of turning her passion into a very successful career.

In her off time Kathy enjoys surfing, gardening, cooking, biking, skydiving and raising her twins. Although she travels all over the world, her favorite place is her own backyard.
